I need to know roughly how much it would cost to travel from hartlepool to kesgrave, near ipswich to pick up a large item (sofa) and then travel back down to hartlepool, cleveland, in a large diesel transit van. I think its around 600 miles alltogether maybe just under.
Disel is £1.03 per liter. I don't know how many liters you need to travel 600 miles but I will guss £390. Probally way out. My Mums car runs on diesal and she told me how much it is.
It could be cheaper for you to have it picked up by someone like Palletway or Palletforce -ask for a quote- & overnighted/trunked to a local depot, & delivered to your door, then you do not have the hassle of travelling. What is the length of the sofa?, because it may fit in a smaller, more economical van - Tranny 'Connect' 4 example Just checked route on live search maps roughly 510 miles round trip or about 10 hours driving. (I drove from coventry to newquay & back in the same day - 540 miles - 8 hours in my pug 406 2 litre petrol -39 mpg, but was shattered when I got back & I'm a truck driver used to long distances)
hi if the van is a rental then you would expect to get around 25-30 mpg so therefore i woud guesstimate around £100 - £120
2weeks pension money
18 miles per gallon. 5 litres in a gallon £1.35 per litre. Oh what the eck, you can work it out from here.
